More than I can explain. It is a rare thing for people to like.

Definitely not going how she imagined. She bites the inside of her cheek idly and then leans up a bit.]

[ He flashes her a grin. ]

[Sighing just a bit- which she hides with a little huff into her bangs- and pulling back with a nod.]

...right. Well in any case, come on- lead the way to the kitchen. These pancakes aren't going to make themselves.

No, indeed.

[ Loki bounces up (the sudden lack of physical contact hits him, and makes his stomach twist; he had not been completely ignorant of her movements during this. he remembered all too well Bruce's suggestion, but -- no. It did not feel right and would not be right, considering who he was) and leads her to the lab, where there is not really a kitchen, but enough of a set-up to make food when they manage to get something not dried. ]

[If she knew that train of thought, she'd demand to know who had given him license to make decisions about what wouldn't be right for her- but she doesn't. Instead, she does her best to keep herself busy so she doesn't think about how much she probably just embarrassed herself as they near the makeshift cooking area, pulling what's left of her pancake mix out in a small plastic bag and immediately looking around for a bowl. As she does, she continues pulling more things out of her bag, including a couple of eggs (gods bless her chickens) and a couple of bottles of water.

No milk, but hey. That stuff didn't quite keep as well, or as long.]

Gonna need a bowl and a pan please- if you've got them. Otherwise I'll have to grab some from home.

[Which really, would take all of ten seconds, but better to ask first.]

[ He grabbed two bowls, but by the time he offered them to her, he had shifted one into a pan. ]

This big enough?

...I will never stop being impressed that you can just do that.

[But she takes the pan with a nod, setting it aside for the moment, and starts pouring out pancake mix.]

But yeah, that's good.

[And to mixing she goes, occasionally pushing up her sleeves to keep from getting powder all over them.]

[ And no modesty what-so-ever.

He goes looking through the shelves for some of the jam he had tucked away. Not as good as syrup, but better than nothing. ]

I'll say.

[Whoops, not what she meant to say. Give her a second to turn on the burner as she mixes.]

[ Loki snickers (he so does like compliments), and then brandishes a small jar. ]

No maple syrup, but I thought some strawberry jam might go well with our pancakes.

[Of course he does.]

[Her expression brightens almost immediately.]

See how awesome I am? I brought your favorite and did not even know it.

[ He tosses her the jar with a grin. ]

[Hands busy as they are, Twyla doesn't catch it- but her shadows do, and set it on the counter beside her as she flashes him another amused look.]

I am in awe, I assure you.

You best be. That is a jar of fine magical ingredients I am going to let you eat.

What kind of magic uses strawberry jam?

[A pause, and then-]

Wait, do I even want to know?

[hashtagging]

[ Loki laughs. ]

It is just very useful for drawing sigils.

[hyoscine]

Well so is lipstick, I'd wager. Saves on the jam.

Do you know how expensive a good tube of lipstick is? You do not waste stuff like that.

Of course I do. I am, however, not above cheap makeup in emergencies. Or, you know, lacking in allowance.

[ That gives a laugh. ]

[A chuckle as she starts pouring the first pancake, shoulders shrugging.]

Hey, a ghoul has to look good somehow, and cutting corners never helped anyone.

I can't imagine you'd have to do much though- I mean with the shapeshifting and all.

I do not have to. But it is more fun to do it authentically, if I have the time.
